COME AS YOU ARE
My philosophy is about honouring where we are and not where we think we should be. I apply that as much as I can in life as I do in yoga.
Yoga is the activity for everyone, no matter your ability, size, shape, goal, experience. My classes are suitable for those who would like to try yoga but don't want to spend a fortune on something they're not sure if they'll like or commit to a membership.
Everyone really is welcome.

YOGA MYTHS: BUSTED

FANCY PANTS NOT REQUIRED
1. You have to be flexible to do yoga.
No, you don't. Some people are scared about trying yoga after seeing images of wonderfully flexible and toned yogis twisting themselves into all sorts of positions. It's true that yoga can build strength and flexibility but you don't need to have these skills to begin. Just start and flexibility, with regular practice, will come.
2. You need fancy pants.
The popularity of yoga has created a whole new industry for fashion but in all honesty, you just need something comfortable. If you can move freely in jeans, then wear them. All you need to practice yoga is comfy clothes and enough space to move in. Can you stretch your arms out to your side, like a bird in flight, and not touch a wall or member of the public? Great! You're ready to go.
3. I just can't do it. It's too hard, I'm too self-conscious.
Whenever we try new things in life it's hard. It's nerve wracking and the inner critic springs to life telling us we aren't good enough, everyone will laugh at me...
Yoga is a personal journey and about honouring your body where it is right now, not where you think it should be or what you should be able to do. As your yoga teacher I honour this in you as well and I would never push you into a position. I always offer alternatives and variations.
If you feel intimidated about going to a class or getting there is a barrier for you, consider a private session - I come to you! It's cheaper than you probably think too. I charge $20 an hour. You can also get a group together (no more than four people), for $15 per person, per hour.
Contact me for more details.
GROUP CLASSES
Choose from a 30 minute or 60 minute class. Suitable for beginners to intermediate.
Excellent introduction to yoga poses and principles.

PRIVATE CLASSES
I understand there are sometimes barriers to attending a yoga class at a studio. This could be physical restrictions, lack of transport or maybe you're a mum who knows it would take longer than an average class just to get the kids in the car. And then what do you do with them while you do yoga?
Well, with private sessions I come to you. This means you can receive yoga instruction in the privacy of your own home or wherever you are.
In-home sessions are a great alternative if getting to a yoga class is too hard, whatever your reason.
You can also get a small group together and have a session in yours or someone else's house. Great for mothers groups!
If you've read this far, thank you because I'm sure most people would discount private lessons thinking they are too expensive. I charge $20 an hour* or $15 per person, per hour for a group**.
*location must be within 10 kilometres of Huntingdale.
** small groups must be no more than four people, including host.

YOGA IN THE PARK
Fresh air and yoga. Hosted at parks around Huntingdale. Kids welcome to join in or come and play on the equipment and ovals.
Weather permitting - if it's too hot or raining, class might be cancelled. Make sure you register to receive updates.
